![]() Furthermore, we successfully synthesized two novel high-entropy MXenes, (TiVNbTa) 2C and (TiVNbHfTa) 2C, which are expected to be highly synthesizable through our first-principles calculations. Out of 756 high-entropy MAX phase candidates, 146 high-entropy MXene compositions were estimated to be synthesizable. Low Entropy would suggest greater energy availability. Therefore High Entropy would indicate less energy available for useful work in a system. Additionally, the thermodynamic stability and exfoliation possibility of high-entropy MAX phases are highly correlated with the lattice distortion factors (the standard deviation of bond length and differences in atomic radii) and the differences in the bond lengths of M–A and M–X, respectively. Entropy according to Websters: A measure of the energy unavailable for useful work in a system, the tendency of an energy system to run down. The high-entropy MXenes can be easily synthesized from few-layered and Al-based HE-MAX phases, which are composed of Ti, Nb, and Ta. 'High-Entropy Perovskites Pr1xSrx(Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni)O3 (x 00. (b) The influence of heating temperatures on the SrCrO4 content and the corresponding Rwp factors obtained by Rietveld refinements. In the present study, using first-principles calculations, the synthesizability of high-entropy MXenes was determined by evaluating the thermodynamic stability and exfoliation possibility of high-entropy MAX phases, which are precursors of high-entropy MXenes. The diamond symbols denote Bragg positions of SrCrO4 (P21/n, ICSD 40922). However, it is challenging to experimentally investigate novel high-entropy MXene compositions owing to time and cost limitations. In particular, 2D high-entropy MXenes are expected to improve the physical or chemical properties of MXenes through the combination of various transition metal compositions. 7 Entropy and disorder also have associations with equilibrium. 6 A measure of disorder in the universe or of the unavailability of the energy in a system to do work. At the same time, an algorithm with high bias is Linear Regression, Linear Discriminant Analysis. The basic idea, pioneered by Yeh in 2004,Citation 1 is to study alloys composed of multiple principal elements solidifying as metallic solid solutions on a simple crystal lattice. In thermodynamics, a parameter representing the state of disorder of a system at the atomic, ionic, or molecular level the greater the disorder the higher the entropy. A high bias model also cannot perform well on new data. ![]() MXenes have been studied as promising 2D materials for various applications such as semiconductors, energy storage, supercapacitors, electromagnetic shielding, sensors, batteries, and adsorbents. High-entropy alloys (HEAs) constitute a novel field in materials science, currently attracting increasing research interest. ![]()
